Jasper Cillessen grew up in Groesbeek. His goalkeeping career started at De Treffers. He then joined NEC's youth academy rather quickly. In 2008, he signed his first professional contract with NEC. He has subsequently played at Ajax, FC Barcelona, Valencia and NEC. His current club is NEC Nijmegen. Furthermore, Cillessen played the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
